Short Description

The Chair for Communications and Navigation is part of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (link) at the Technische Universität München (link) and deals mainly with the fundamentals of satellite navigation and its applications. Additional research in satellite communications has recently started.

The teachings of the chair focuses on problems arising in the field of satellite navigation, in close relationship to Galileo, the European Global Navigation Satellite System. Topics also include advanced techniques like Differential Navigation. The research work in satellite navigation contributes to the foundation of future positioning algorithms like Carrier-Phase Positioning. Research interests in the field of satellite communications are about geostationary data relais and their field of applications.
